October 2026 Roundup

October has been an eventful month for analog games. A few highlights that caught my eye.

Salvage Union Japanese Translation

Another game getting translated into Japanese! The prolific Frog Games releasing a translation of the post-apocalyptic mech TRPG Salvage Union. Available as a PDF.

Sword World Crowdfunding

The Sword World English edition crowdfunding campaign, still underway as of this writing, has raised over $2.9 million in funding with fourteen days left. That level of enthusiasm is great to see, and I hope it encourages more localization of Japanese TRPGs!

Gundam Assemble Officially Launches

The tactical miniature game Gundam Assemble officially released. There are not a lot of domestically produced miniature games that I’m aware of, so I’m curious to seeing its reception and if Bandai’s involvement brings more miniature games to Japan. Definitely want to check it out, but my grey pile of shame is staring at me as I write this.

Role & Roll Renewal

Ok, this was technically announced 9/29, but I missed it. Role & Roll Magazine is getting a big change from issue 242 onwards. After having gone digital-only, it is now switching to quarterly releases, but only ¥990 instead of the previous ¥2,750. Will be published on the 15th of March, June, September, and December. In addition to schedule and price changes, they’re planning on having more creator interviews and detailed information.

Kedamono Opera Scenario

Cover of new Kedamono Opera supplementIt makes me happy to see continued support for Kedamono Opera, which I’ve mentioned in the past and also has an English translation. The latest supplement 愛しき我が供物 (roughly “My Beloved Offering”) is a collection of ten scenarios. B5 in size and 160 pages, it retails for ¥3,600 plus tax.
